The F.I.S.H. Foundation Inc. believes in working to develop spiritual health. The foundation maintains that such spiritual health comes from a balance between body, mind, and spirit. Therefore, the foundation will address aspects of well-being when it gives a grant for health, education, or spiritual reasons.
The foundation will be interested in work that involves the support of healthy lives. This might mean working to decrease hunger, or to assist in the support of medical needs like treatment for AIDS, or to prevent malaria, or to champion specific medical procedures that improve people’s quality of life.
Education is a fundamental need among all people for the empowerment of their lives in the global community. In today’s world of burgeoning wealth, too many are left behind educationally, which heightens the gap between the wealthiest people and the poorest. The F.I.S.H. Foundation seeks to address the need for school-based grants that improve the quality of education and the need for individual grants that improve people’s chances for personal access to education.
Spiritual well-being is becoming an area of greater interest worldwide. Given the growing interest in achieving peace, the lessons of spiritual wholeness take on new meaning. People of all races and nationalities are looking to their God or their higher power in order to establish the meaningfulness of their lives.
The F.I.S.H. Foundation seeks to encourage the growth of individuals and groups that seek to deepen the faith-based aspects of people’s lives. The term spiritual formation is essential to this area of the foundation’s work, because we wish to engage in the advancement of people’s personal and communal spiritual identities.
